Boat transport in NZ: what actually happens on the day

Bought a boat online? Moving between marinas? Here's what actually happens on pickup day and what it costs.

Three kinds of boat transport

Trailer boats — you own the trailer, we hook it on and go. Cheapest option.

Boats without trailers — we load onto our own trailer or low-loader. Adds a lift at each end.

Marina-to-marina — we coordinate the haul-out crane, transport and re-launch.

Rough price ranges

Trailer boat, short local run: $250–$400

Trailer boat, Auckland–Wellington: $700–$1,100

Trailer boat, inter-island: $900–$1,400 (ferry included)

Boat without trailer: add $200–$500 for haul-out and re-launch each end

What we need from you

Boat length, beam and approximate weight

On the day

We arrive in the booked window and text you photos before hitching up. Fuel and water tanks should be empty, gear stowed inside or removed.

Delivery is door-to-door or marina-to-marina. We call 30 minutes before drop-off.
